"Disproportionate impact: 3 to 5% of U.S. population
identifies as gay or lesbian, up to 42% of homeless youth identify as gay or
lesbian."

Sobering statistic isn't it. It does not surprise me. So - if our western countries were really serious about trying to deal with youth homelessness, drug abuse and suicide - they could start by dealing with the social prejudice against homosexuality.
