"In the city of spiders there was a Lady on the hunt. Aspid had been told, by the men who lived in the street, 
not to succumb to the scent of the spider-ladies.... However, coiling itself around the aroma of the Lady, 
was another odour: fresh and sweet. It caused his blood to rise immediately. Aspid looked up but saw no 
spider-lady, only Maxid …"

"Was it coming now, he wondered? The moment of exultation? When he would be lifted up and taken to heaven? 
The end that the ladies always said 'was the ultimate ecstasy?"
